Parasailing over Saipan waters

SAIPAN— Parasailing is one of the most popular marine activities in the island that never fails to lure thousands of tourists to Saipan every year.

For those who have never tried parasailing, all you see are just those colorful parachutes floating above the Saipan lagoon on bright sunny days but if you have experienced the thrill of strapping yourself and getting on a parasail and fly 200 feet above the water, it’s a whole new different story.

Watch in fascination as boat crew strap you to your seat, slowly release the cables and eject you into space as the parachute unfurls.

Words are inadequate to describe the euphoria you feel as you float above the clouds and between the wide expanse of blue skies and clear blue waters, and knowing that you are totally relying on the powerful straps connecting the parasail to the speeding boat just adds to the thrill.

You will forget your fears as you start to enjoy seeing the beautiful paradise of Saipan and Managaha Island from the top. For more excitement, the boat captains vary the speeds of the boats from slow to fast to very fast, and dipping the riders in the ocean before hurling the parasail up to the air.

Parasailing is an adrenaline-pumping activity which is not for the weak of heart and not for those with acrophobia, but many people who dared it have succeeded in conquering their fears and found the experience exhilarating. It is an addicting sport once you get the hang of it.

If you’re planning to go on a parasailing adventure avoid taking any alcohol hours before or you will not be allowed to get on one.
