Nam Dae Moon: Newest Korean restaurant in Garapan

WHAT I saw as I opened the door were the silver dome shape lights suspended in chains from the ceiling, rows of funnel-shaped silver tubes hanging over the tables and rows of yellow plastic flowers that served as partitions for the tables.

A wait staffer guided me and a friend to one of the long tables and I learned the funnel-shaped tubes were exhaust for the grills on the tables.
Nam Dae Moon Korean Restaurant is your typical Korean restaurant where you get five or more kinds of appetizers while waiting for your order.
I decided to try their version of hot vegetable bibimbap while my companion ordered a hot bowl of beef soup mandu. We didn’t get a chance to enjoy our appetizers because our orders arrived quickly.
My vegetable bibimbap was sizzling hot with bits of mushrooms, bits of ground beef and strips of vegetables. What was different was that they fried the egg they put on top of the bibimbap. I guess I prefer the raw egg because you get to cook it along with the other ingredients in the sizzling pot. My order also came with corn soup.
My companion’s beef soup was served in a large silver tin bowl, enough for the two of us. The food staffer gave us a separate sauce for flavoring and it was good — not spicy and not too salty. I was not hungry but with only a very little help from my companion, I finished my soup — a rare occurrence.
If you want your food sizzling hot, get beef ribs hot pot,  seafood hot pot, beef shabu-shabu, dumplings hot pot or sukiyaki from $12 to $30. Each order is good for four persons.
Check out the variety of choices on the set menu  with prices ranging from $6 to $10: spicy beef soup, premium beef ribs set which includes Korean cold noodles or miso soup,  short ribs served in an earthenware pot, stir-fried octopus, kimchi stew, pork or fish cutlets, rice cakes and mandu soup. A selection of all-time noodle favorites is also available: udon with deep-fried vegetables, chilled buckwheat noodle soup, spicy mixed buckwheat noodles, and curried udon.
Nam Dae Moon Restaurant is ideal for groups or families and individuals who want to eat food fresh off the grill. The restaurant can seat up to 150 individuals.
