Hanoi Resto opens second branch
Fresh and deliciously healthy are the apt adjectives that best describe the array of food the newly-opened Vietnamese restaurant offers to food lovers in the city.
If you’re hit with the craving for Vietnamese food, you don’t have to knit your brows over the ridiculousness of going to Vietnam for a feast, or drool with your imagination because Vietnamese cuisine is served right at your fingertips.
This after enterprising couple Rey and Neneng dela Paz, owners of Casa Leticia and Tsuru Restaurant made it possible by opening another branch of the Hanoi restaurant at the Damosa Gateway in Bajada recently.
Rey said they opened the restaurant backed by 18 years of experience in the industry and driven by the passion for food.
“I visited Vietnam and was fascinated with their cuisine, so I decided to bring Vietnam to Davao,” he said, adding that he hopes to contribute to the learning experience of the Dabawenyos about Vietnamese cuisine. They opened the first Hanoi restaurant located beside Casa Leticia a couple of years ago.
Vietnamese cuisine tends to be on the sweeter side, with more on noodles, and spring rolls wrapped in rice paper. The generous use of herbs also gives a distinct flavoring to the food. The restaurant offers a regular “fix-your-own” noodles stall where customers are free to choose from a wide variety of ingredients, it makes your head swirl trying to decide and resisting the temptation to dump everything on your bowl, with a choice of bubbling pork or beef broth.
Neneng said that you need not shell out much as their food is wallet-friendly, hovering just somewhere between P150 to P250. For a start, you can enjoy a cup of Vietnamese coffee and relax in the homey ambiance of the restaurant.
Guests during the opening ceremony got a real treat for dessert: cubes of durian suman, durian pie and durian maja blanca just small enough to leave you wanting for more.
