Lunchtime on Friday took me and five officemates to try out the new place that just opened that day. Early diners were already there when we arrived and settled at one of the far end tables.
The glorious blend of modern and antique decorations, the huge mirrors mounted on the walls and the volume of colorful knick-knacks, paintings, chandeliers, new and antique furniture and the mellow music in the background provide an overall cozy ambiance that tempts you to linger over your meal. The tables are separated by shelves loaded with more valuable collector’s items, providing some sort of privacy as though you are dining in somebody’s antique kitchen.
Alexie, Andrew and Junhan all ordered the beef meatball spaghetti set served with garlic bread on huge plates.
Jeanette and I settled for the fish stick and onion ring set which was served with a generous amount of mayonnaise for dipping while Arnold tried one of the day’s special lunches — the pilaf rice and kebab set.
Café Judy’s serves breakfast including toast sets, Judy’s breakfast consisting of omelet, toast with jam and butter, and coffee for $6, American breakfast of Judy’s toast, eggs, ham or baco
n and coffee for $7 and Chamorro breakfast set of fried rice, spam or Chamorro sausage, eggs and coffee for $8. Check out the various
sandwich sets and side dishes.
Lunch specials vary every day to give way to the various preferences of diners but you can order popular favorites like grilled hamburger steak set, BBQ teriyaki chicken wings, fish steak
set and pasta. For dinner, Café Judy’s has more delicious choices on its menu.
Try out the special hot or cold coffee like espresso, Americano, café latte with vanilla or caramel, cappuccino, café mocha, caramel macchiato and hot chocolates, or the different flavors of tea, frappes, yogurt shakes and beverages, snowflakes in a bowl, and Judy’s special toast and waffles.
Meals at Café Judy’s are priced below $10.
Café Judy’s, located at the former Juanny’s Beauty Salon in As Lito, is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Major credit cards are accepted. For reservations or inquiries, call 288-2226.
